2023 harvest has sold out.
Waxahachie, TX
We started keeping bees to benefit our home garden. Well, actually, it was under protest by George. He is mildly allergic to bee stings. In 2010 I took beekeeping classes at Elm Mott and purchased my first colony of bees. Bees come. Bees go. On average, we host about nine to ten colonies during the year. After our first harvest George exclaimed "Of all the weird stuff you do, the bees are the best". George does not work the bees, but he is the best assistant extractor, bottler and honeybee advocate.
Dina & Scott Rolen currently manage about 100 hives here in Ellis County. In addition to selling local honey, they do honeybee rescues and education.
Lee Calvert has swarmed to the Yellow Farmhouse booth at the Waxahachie Farmer's Market. Lee sells honey, local produce and meat products.
